Muhammad Ali lives on at Toy Fair
NECA's Superman vs. Muhammad Ali action figure set at Toy Fair
That the late Muhammad Ali is in fact immortal was underscored by his presence at last month's Toy Fair.
Licensed merchandise manufacturer National
Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) showed its Superman vs. Muhammad Ali Special Edition figures deriving from the DC Comics historic 1978 Superman vs. Muhammad Ali comic, in which Ali defeated Superman in the ring before teaming up with him to save the planet from alien invasion.
The two action figures are both seven-inch scale with over 25 points of articulation, and are based on the Neal Adams' comic book cover art—which is shown on the packaging. The Superman figure includes alternate ungloved hands.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong-based action figure company Storm Collectibles, whose licensing partners include both renowned boxing equipment manufacturer Everlast and one of its foremost representatives in Ali himself, showed images of its forthcoming 1:6 scale Ali action figure.
